The Heart behind the art
Daybreak Crafts began with a Cricut machine, a curiosity for paper, and a lot of trial and error. What started as an experiment quickly turned into a love for layered papercraft—transforming simple cardstock into detailed, dimensional designs. After plenty of practice (and many torn sheets along the way), those early attempts became the shadowboxes you see today.
The first finished piece was a 3D layered cat, inspired by my own four feline companions. From there, I began creating shadowboxes as gifts for family and friends, and their enthusiastic reactions sparked something unexpected: the idea that these designs could bring joy to others beyond my circle.
In January 2022, Daybreak Crafts officially came to life. Since then, my work has found homes in gift shops, coffee shops, craft fairs, and now online—each piece thoughtfully assembled by hand. The designs themselves are carefully chosen, and then every shadowbox is cut, layered, and finished by me.
Today, Daybreak Crafts is about celebrating moments—big, small, and everyday—through detailed paper art meant to be displayed, gifted, and enjoyed.
